Woman Resists Arrest

Pikeville, KY — A Pikeville woman has been arrested for several charges including resisting arrest. According to the arrest citation, Pikeville Police responded to the Pikeville Medical Center Emergency Room shortly before 2:00 AM Monday to a complaint of an intoxicated woman causing a disturbance in the facility. Officers arrested 31-year-old Chasity Bartley when she would not respond to verbal commands after being told she was under arrest. Officers wrote in the citation that Bartley had to be physically removed from the bed at which time she fell to the floor and refused to get up. Bartley had to be dragged into a wheelchair then escorted to a police cruiser where she again refused commands to get into the vehicle and had to be physically placed in the cruiser. Bartley was transported to the Pike County Detention Center and placed in a fully body restraint chair. Bartley was apparently under the influence of intoxicants that she had taken and was arrested for earlier. Bartley was charged with Public Intoxication of a Controlled Substance, Disorderly Conduct 2nd degree and Resisting Arrest.
