MINGO COUNTY, WV.–A Mingo County woman will spend six years in prison, after pleading guilty to child sex trafficking.
40-year-old Misty Dawn Baisden, of Delbarton, appeared in U.S. District Court in Charleston yesterday to learn her fate. She was sentenced to 72 months in prison, to be followed by 20 years of supervision and sex offender registration. Back in October, Baisden pleaded guilty to child sex trafficking, in exchange for having additional counts of child sex trafficking, sexual exploitation, coercion and child pornography dropped. She admitted communicating by text with 47-year-old David Wayne Young, of Ashland, to discuss providing Young with a 12-year-old girl for sexual activity, in exchange for Young providing her with a 14-year-old girl. Young pleaded guilty to the same charge last month. The charge carries a maximum sentence of life in prison.
