WV Counties Unemployment Numbers Released

Charleston, WV — The county unemployment numbers for West Virginia have been released. According to WorkForce West Virginia, the jobless rates dropped in 1 county, remained the same in two counties and rose in 52 counties in June. Jackson County reported the state’s lowest unemployment rate at 3.1 percent. Calhoun County reported the highest unemployment rate at 9.6 percent followed by McDowell County at 9.4 percent. Elsewhere in the region, Logan County reported 6.2 percent, Mingo County reported 7.0 percent and Wyoming County reported 7.1 percent. West Virginia’s statewide unemployment rate stands at 4.7 percent.
