Johnson County, KY — Johnson County Sheriff Doug Saylor has reported that his office received two “Check Scam” reports yesterday. According to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, one check was a payment for an advertisement of an energy drink company by placing a decal of the company on your car. The payment was over $4,000.00 for a month of advertisement. The other report was a secret shopper payment for buying Ebay gift cards. The check amount for that was $1,500.00. The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office is urging you not to deposit or try to cash checks that are questionable. Authorities suggest taking any suspicious checks to your local bank or to your local law enforcement agency. Authorities remind you if it looks and sounds too good to be true, then it’s probably not true.
