PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A Floyd County man who was arrested in Pikeville earlier this week on a rape charge is back in jail after being indicted in the case. And now, he faces a new charge.

John Douglas Tackett, 18, of Printer, was arrested early Tuesday morning after a police officer allegedly found him in the bed of his pickup with a half-nude 12-year-old on the top level of the downtown parking garage.

On Thursday, a grand jury issued an indictment charging him with second-degree rape and second-degree sodomy.

Tackett had been placed on home confinement under a $20,000 unsecured bond earlier this week. He has now been re-arrested and is currently in the Pike County jail.
