WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Appalachian Regional Commission has announced grants of nearly $2.8 million to six entities in Kentucky working to battle addiction on numerous fronts.
The money includes grants of $500,000 each to AppalReD, the Appalachian Artisan Center, the Federation of Appalachian House Enterprises and Raven Cares; a $497,000 grant to Millard College in Louisa; and a $300,000 to the Center for Rural Development. All of the money will be used to help those in recovery find jobs and job training.
The grants are part of $12 million in funding from the Appalachian Regional Commission for 33 projects across the country.
