PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A Floyd County man was taken to jail for allegedly burglarizing his ex-girlfriend’s home.

Police were called to the woman’s home at Harold’s Branch in Pikeville, over a report that Shane Hicks, 46, of Garrett, had broken into the house while only the woman’s 15-year-old daughter was at home. Police say Hicks entered the house through a window and took several items.

He was stopped on Bypass Road as he was leaving the area and police found between $1,000 and $1,500 worth of items taken from the home.

Hicks was arrested and charged with second-degree burglary.
