PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A Harlan County woman was arrested in Pikeville on a meth trafficking charge.

A Pikeville Police officer pulled over a car Tuesday for erratic driving. As the officer approached the window, the occupants of the car appeared to be trying to hide something. He then noticed that a passenger in the car, identified as Samantha Sexton, 30, of Cumberland, had her fly open with a plastic bag sticking out.

Upon questioning, Sexton turned over the bag, which contained what police described as an amount of meth more consistent with trafficking than personal use. Police also recovered Neurontin, Suboxone and a pair of brass knuckles from the woman.

Sexton was arrested for meth trafficking, drug possession, carrying a concealed weapon and other charges.

The driver of the car was also arrested for DUI and several traffic violations.
