PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A Pike County man was arrested after police were called to report that he assaulted his girlfriend.

Police went to a Maynard Fork home Saturday over a complaint that 34-year-old Warren Tyler Ford was “beating his girlfriend” and that he threatened to “slit her throat.”
Ford was found outside behind the home. He told police he and the woman got into an argument after she set a pair of his boxer shorts on fire, but he denied assaulting her.
The woman and other witnesses had a different story, saying the girlfriend accidentally dropped a lit cigarette onto the boxers, and Ford responded by punching her in the head, biting her face and choking her. They also said he threatened to kill her and bury her body before police arrived.
The police report notes the girlfriend had marks on her face and neck.
Ford was arrested and charged with assault, strangulation and terroristic threatening.
