SALYERSVILLE, Ky. — A Magoffin County man is in jail after being accused of assaulting his wife and holding her prisoner.
The Magoffin County Sheriff’s Office was called Monday night to the Fletcher Branch home of 62-year-old Lloyd Lemaster, after his wife said she was able to get free.
She told deputies the trouble began earlier in the day, when Lemaster repeatedly called her at work, accusing her of cheating on him.
She said when she got home, he began hitting, slapping and strangling her, then took her phone and unplugged the landline so she couldn’t call for help.
She further said he held her prisoner at gunpoint for three hours and said he would kill her if she called for help.
Lemaster was arrested for unlawful imprisonment, strangulation, assault and other charges.
