ALLEN, Ky. — A Floyd County K9 can be credited with another drug arrest, and this time he didn’t even have to do anything.
Deputies were called to Seasons Inn in Allen Monday afternoon, over reports of a guests being loud and possibly selling drugs.
When a deputy arrived, he spotted Kevin Woods, 37, of Allen, coming out of one of the rooms.
The deputy knew Woods was wanted on several warrants, and Woods apparently knew as well, as the officer said he began to back away and looked as if he might run. That was put to an end when the deputy advised Woods that he would deploy K9 Mako on him if he ran.
Woods was arrested without further incident, leading the officer to find 9 grams of heroin and 4 grams of meth. Woods, who has a lengthy criminal history, reportedly admitted to selling heroin in the room and said he knew he made a mistake and would be “gone for good this time.”
In addition to the warrants, he is now charged with both possessing and trafficking meth and heroin.
