SALYERSVILLE, Ky. — A Magoffin County man was arrested over the weekend for allegedly setting a building on fire in order to keep warm.
Deputies were called to Booger Hill Saturday for a report of a man walking in the road with his pants down. When they arrived, they found a structure fire and Austin Nipper, 21, outside.
The police report noted that deputies noticed a strong odor of alcohol coming from Nipper, and he allegedly told police he had been drinking because he is an alcoholic. He also allegedly admitted to setting the building on fire, and two witnesses said he did so in order to keep warm.
Nipper was arrested and taken to jail for third-degree arson and drinking alcohol in public.
