PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A Pike County man has been arrested after being accused of sending a nude picture to a 15-year-old, then allegedly trying to cover it up.

Police were contacted Friday by a parent who said her 15-year-old cousin had received a nude photo from Curby Tackett, 34, of Pikeville.

The picture had been sent through Facebook Messenger as part of a conversation between the two. The picture had laughing emojis positioned over the genitals, and Tackett allegedly sent a followup message asking if the girl wanted the photo “uncovered.”

At that point, one of the girl’s guardians sent Tackett a message telling him to stop messaging the girl and informing him the conversation was being reported to police. Afterwards, Tackett’s Facebook account was deactivated.

When interviewed by Pikeville Police on Monday, Tackett reportedly admitted sending photos to the girl and said he knew it was wrong.

Tackett has now been charged with a misdemeanor count of distributing obscene material to minors for sending the photo and a felony count of tampering with physical evidence for deactivating his Facebook account. He is being held in the Pike County Detention Center.
