FREEBURN, Ky. — A traffic stop Sunday evening resulted in two people being arrested for trafficking in meth and fentanyl.

A state trooper was patrolling Barrenshee Creek around 7 p.m., when he spotted a blue car with an altered temporary tag. He also noticed that one of the passengers in the car was Brian Hegedus, 54, of Majestic, who was wanted for questioning regarding a motorcycle theft in West Virginia.
After pulling the car over and going to speak to the driver, identified as Savannah Mounts, 37, of Sidney, the trooper could see a digital scale with white powder on it lying out in the open. He then searched the car and found numerous bags of meth, a bag containing six grams of fentanyl, and various types of paraphernalia.
Mounts and Hegedus were both arrested for meth and fentanyl trafficking and other charges.
The third occupant of the car, identified as Amanda Layne, 45, of Freeburn, was also arrested for numerous warrants for not appearing in court and failure to pay fines.
