Third COVID-19 death reported in Mingo

WILLIAMSON, W.Va. — Mingo County has experienced its third COVID-19-related death.

According to the Mingo County Health Department, a 43-year-old man was reported on Monday as being Mingo County’s latest COVID-19 victim. The health department says the man died while hospitalized at Tug Valley ARH Regional Medical Center in South Williamson, Kentucky.

No further information was available about the victim. According to the health department, the man was first reported to the health department as being positive for COVID-19 on July 21.

Mingo County’s first COVID-19-related death was reported on April 15, and the second was reported nearly two months later on June 12. As of Sunday, Mingo County had 152 total confirmed cases of COVID-19, with more than 100 of those cases remaining active.
