Jenkins, Ky: A groundbreaking is planned for a new business in Jenkins. The distribution center for Hunt Brothers Pizza, which is currently located in Mayking, near Whitesburg, is slated to relocate to the Gateway Industrial Park in the Jenkins city limits. The relocation will bring about a half-dozen new jobs into the city. Jenkins Mayor Todd DePriest said that although it’s only a handful of jobs being brought into Jenkins, he hopes the relocation of the warehouse to the Gateway Industrial Park will span further growth at the park.

“Well anything new that comes into the industrial park is a plus. My hopes are that other companies see that it is a possible location or distribution, whether it’s other grocery style distribution or service companies for other companies; linens or produce or whatever it ends up being. A place for distribution is possible there. Maybe trucking companies or whatever having a place to operate out of that is close to the main roads”

The groundbreaking for the new Hunt Brothers Pizza Distribution Center is scheduled for Wednesday, May 9th, at 9 a.m. The public is invited to attend.
