PIKEVILLE, Ky. — The on-again, off-again federal drug trial of a Pike County man appears off again, as he has once again asked to enter a guilty plea.

Christopher Springfield, 43, of Pikeville, was arrested back in May after Kentucky State Police raided his home and reported finding large amounts of meth, fentanyl and crack cocaine. In July, a federal grand jury charged him with possession of meth, fentanyl and cocaine with the intent to distribute, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and two counts of distributing fentanyl.
On Oct. 11, his attorney filed a motion asking that he be allowed to enter a guilty plea, but when he was brought into court for re-arraignment, he expressed dissatisfaction with his attorney. The judge then canceled the re-arraignment and scheduled his trial to begin Nov. 6.
On Monday, his attorney filed another motion for re-arraignment, this time saying that he had spent hours with him going over the evidence in the case and a plea agreement offered by prosecutors. The judge has accepted that request and has now scheduled another re-arraignment hearing for Nov. 6.
