PRESTONSBURG, Ky. — Authorities have released the identity of an inmate who died after an undetermined incident at the Floyd County Detention Center.
Adam Potter, 29, of Prestonsburg, was found injured at the jail yesterday afternoon. He was taken to Highlands Regional Medical Center, where he later died.
Police say they are investigating the possibility that Potter was killed in a fight in the jail. However, nothing has been determined at this time.
An autopsy is being conducted today to determine an exact cause of death.
Potter was being held in the jail on an active case involving charges of burglary, disorderly conduct and public intoxication.
The case remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police.
