Bad News For Magoffin County Flood Victims

Salyersville, KY — Magoffin County will not be eligible for Individual assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), that according to Magoffin County Judge Executive Matt Wireman. Even though the county had one of the highest damage reports of any of the impacted counties, the county did not meet the thresholds set by the federal government. However, Magoffin County will qualify for Public Assistance to help repair the over 3 million dollars in damaged roads. But that is contingent on President Donald Trump signing a Presidential Declaration of Emergency, which at this time he has not done. Judge Wireman says he will be meeting with State Emergency Management officials regarding additional resources that may be available for those who sustained flood damage.
