A partnership on a road project resulted in some confusion and the draining of the road fund of one Pike County magistrate.
In Tuesday’s Pike County Fiscal Court meeting, Deputy Judge-Executive Brian Morris said the road fund of magistrate Jeff Anderson was drained recently due to a billing error by county blacktop vendor Mountain Enterprises. Morris said Mountain Enterprises mistakenly billed the county for blacktop used in Coal Run Village.
The bill, Morris said, should have fallen to Coal Run.
Morris said the error occurred during the course of a project in which the county was assisting Coal Run with paving of city streets. He said the error has been corrected.
