JACKSON, Ky. — A Breathitt County man faces charges of assault and unlawful imprisonment after police found a woman bound in duct tape, hiding in a barn.

Police were called Thursday to a residence on Bean Fork Road, after the woman said she broke a window to escape and managed to get to the barn.

Court records indicate the woman had duct tape around her arms and legs. She told police that 32-year-old Jamie Turner had tied her up to prevent her from leaving, bit her cheek and arm, and cut her leg with a knife. The police report indicates her injuries were “apparent and profound.”

Officers were unable to find Turner that night, but arrested him when they returned to the home on Monday. He claimed that the woman cut herself when trying to cut him, put the tape on herself, and that she broke the window and left on her own. He also said that he only pushed her down in self-defense during an argument.

Turner is being held in the Three Forks Regional Jail on a $25,000 bond.
