SALYERSVILLE, Ky. — A broken tail light was all it took to send a Floyd County man to jail for meth trafficking.

A Magoffin County sheriff’s deputy was on patrol Tuesday evening along Route 378 at Far Middle Fork, when he noticed a car with a malfunctioning tail light, so he pulled it over.

In the police report, the deputy noted that the driver, Jackie Bailey, 44, of Harold, seemed nervous and evasive when questioned, so he asked for and receive permission to search the vehicle. That resulted in the discovery of a magnetic box under the driver’s seat containing 3 grams of meth, along with a variety of paraphernalia.

Bailey was arrested and charged with meth trafficking, possession of drug paraphernalia and improper equipment.
