Bus crash in Pike County sends one student to the hospital

Wet roads are likely the cause of a collision between a Pike County school bus and a passenger vehicle near Phelps Thursday afternoon.  Kentucky State Police officials say the crash happened near the Woodman community as the bus carrying 18 students from Phelps Elementary and High School was struck by another vehicle.  Of the 18 students on board, one was transported to the hospital via ambulance for precautionary measures.  Other than a few minor bumps and bruises, first responders at the scene say everyone appeared to be in good condition.  Mountain Top News will continue to follow this story, and will bring you a more detailed account of the crash when information becomes available.
