CLINTWOOD, Ky. —Two students of Ridgeview Elementary reportedly made “serious threats” against teachers, the school district is reporting.
Supt. Haydee Robinson announced the incident over social media Wednesday afternoon. Her full statement follows:
“We want to inform you about a serious threat made today by two students toward teachers at Ridgeview Elementary School. The situation was promptly addressed by the school’s administrative staff with assistance from law enforcement. No weapons were involved The parents of the students involved were quickly informed. Dickenson County Public Schools has initiated its disciplinary procedures per policy.
“We want to recognize our students who heard of the threat and immediately reported it. This greatly assisted the administration in quickly conducting its investigative process.
“We appreciate our students, staff, families, and law enforcement partners for working together to help maintain a safe school environment. We encourage all students to continue to speak up whenever they see, hear, or become aware of something that could threaten the safety of our schools.”
