PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A federal judge has ruled that a Pike County currently facing child pornography charges will remain in jail while his case is pending.

Robert Preston, 37, of Shelbiana, is charged with producing, receiving and possessing child porn. He is accused of contacting a 13-year-old girl, then threatening her over the next three years if she didn’t send him sexually explicit images.

On Monday, the judge ruled that after considering the extent of Preston’s alleged crimes, there are no reasonable conditions of release that would adequately protect the public.

Preston will remain in jail while waiting for his case to go to trial.
