Convicted rapist arrested at Pike County School

Pike County, KY — A convicted rapist was arrested on Monday as he was coming through the Parent pickup line at a Pike County School without permission. 74-year-old Richard Bartley was arrested as the result of a tip provided to a School Resource Officer. Bartley has yet to register as a sex offender in Pike County as he was originally charged with 2 counts of 1st-degree sexual abuse and 2 counts of 3rd-degree rape. Chief Deputy of the Pike County Sheriff’s Office Lynn Cross encourages everyone to check the sex offender registry to stay informed of who lives in your neighborhood. Bartley was lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.
