Coronavirus vaccine arrives in Pikeville

PIKEVILLE, Ky. — The first shipment of Pfizer’s coronavirus vaccine has arrived at Pikeville Medical Center.

Details are still being worked out, but we are being told that frontline medical workers will begin receiving vaccinations today.

The news comes after the FDA approved emergency use of the vaccine on Friday, and one day after Kentucky began vaccinating frontline medical workers at three hospitals in Louisville, Lexington and Bowling Green.

Mountain Top News will bring you more information as it becomes available.
