SALYERSVILLE, Ky. — A Magoffin County couple was the subject of a drug raid that resulted in them also being charged with adult abuse.

Deputies were on their way to the Coon Creek home of James Lee Isaac, 41, and Lisa Watkins, 37, on Saturday, when they found themselves driving behind them. Once they arrived at the residence, they stopped the couple in their driveway and searched the car, finding meth, heroin and pills in Watkins’ purse.

The police report notes deputies found numerous syringes and other types of paraphernalia inside the home, along with “countless” prescription medications in sandwich bags.

They also learned that Isaac and Watkins live with a woman and are her primary caretakers. Family members concerned about the woman’s anxiety and late-night pacing took her to a doctor and learned that she had fentanyl in her system.

Isaac and Watkins are charged with wanton abuse or neglect of an adult, possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia, and other charges. They are being held in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center, in Paintsville.
