SALYERSVILLE, Ky. — Two Magoffin County residents were arrested after police received a report of a home burglary.
The Magoffin County Sheriff’s Office was called Wednesday to Adams Lane, in Salyersville, over a report of a burglary in progress.
When deputies arrived, they spotted Jeffery Marshall, 49, of Salyersville, standing beside a car, holding a deadbolt. Sitting in the passenger seat of the car was Virginia Gambill, 42, of Salyersville. When Marshall spotted the officer, he tossed the deadbolt, got into the car, and locked the doors.
After Marshall and Gambill ignored multiple commands to get out of the car, deputies smashed the driver’s side window, unlocked the doors, and removed them.
The officers were shown a security video of the pair using a hammer and crowbar on the home’s door, and witnesses told police Marshall went into the house for 10 minutes after the door was opened.
Both were arrested on charges of charges of burglary, resisting arrest, menacing and disorderly conduct.
