Couple sentenced for distributing stolen pills

PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A Pike County husband and wife will each spend more than three years in federal prison, after pleading guilty to distributing stolen drugs.

Kayla White Perry, 34, of Elkhorn City, previously worked as a pharmacy tech at Pikeville Medical Center. In court, she admitted to regularly taking oxycodone, hydrocodone and methadone from work, and giving the pills to her husband, William Chad Perry, 39, to distribute to others.

Over a two-year period, the couple distributed more than 50,000 dosage units in this manner.

This week, Kayla Perry was sentenced to 38 months in prison, while William Perry was sentenced to 41 months. The couple is also required to pay more than $34,000 in restitution to Pikeville Medical Center.
