As we approach the one year anniversary of Pikeville Police Officer Scotty Hamilton’s murder, the city of Pikeville is planning to take a moment this week to honor him.

This Friday, January the 11th at 1:11 in the afternoon, there will be a moment of silence and prayer in remembrance of Hamilton in the front parking lot of the Pikeville Police Department. The date and time corresponds with Officer Hamilton’s badge number, 111.

Several schools throughout the county are also asking staff and students to wear blue that day in honor of him.
