MARTIN COUNTY, KY.- The national attention of the water woes facing the citizens of Martin County is beginning to pay off as Erin Brockovich’s water system expert addressed dozens of concerned residents about the condition of their water system and ways they can positively affect the situation.
“I’d like to have a 30, 60, 90 day plan in place for specific things we can do to get things turned around to get things ready for summer. Then let’s get us through that summer successfully and let’s start putting real dollars to work in the infrastructure and begin to put this thing back together. Allow the community to have input on the prioritization of that spending and those activities and at the same time establish rates that are fair and equitable for everyone.”
The Public Service Commission will be considering the proposed 50% rate increase by the Martin County Water District tomorrow.
