36-year-old Larry M. Bartley, of Dorton-Jenkins Highway, was arrested Saturday afternoon after being on the run for more than 3 weeks. On December 4, when the escape allegedly occurred, Pike County Jailer Brian Morris said Bartley had been incarcerated on drug-related charges and was within months of serving out his sentence.

Morris said Bartley walked away from a work release detail at Elkhorn City while working with the county’s solid waste department. Morris could not be reached Wednesday for further information on Bartley’s capture.

Larry Bartley is now facing charges of second-degree escape and probation violation stemming from a felony conviction. He pleaded not guilty to the charges Wednesday in Pike District Court, and remains lodged in the Pike County Detention Center on a $5,000 cash bond.
