Justin K. Bryant, 35, of Martin, pleaded guilty in October to possession of meth and fentanyl with the intent to distribute and using a firearm in a drug trafficking crime.

The charges stem from a pair of arrests. In December of 2023, he was pulled over and officers found him in possession of more than 22 grams of meth and 3.5 grams of fentanyl.

Then in March of 2025, he was stopped at a roadblock and was found in possession of a large amount of meth. Police at that time said he tried to destroy the evidence by ripping open bags of meth and throwing it in the face of a state trooper.

Under sentencing guidelines, Bryant had faced between 180 and 225 months in prison. The judge chose to go with one year more than the minimum, 192 months.

Parole has been abolished in the federal prison system, but Bryant can still reduce his sentence by about two years and four months with good conduct in prison.
