Free “Drive-Thru Circus” to take place at Pike County Public Library

PIKEVILLE, Ky. (MTN) — In hopes of bringing joy to the community during this ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, The Pike County Public Library at Lee Avenue has scheduled a free drive-through circus for the community to enjoy.

According to a Facebook post made by the Pike County Public Library, this event will take place in the parking lot of the Lee Avenue branch on Saturday, August 15 from 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM.

The post continues to say that anyone can enjoy these performances from inside their vehicle. Performances will include aerialists, stilt jugglers, fire performers and more.

“We’ve had to cancel a lot of the big programs we had lined up for the summer, and it was such a disappointment,” states Maggie Salisbury, the Programming Coordinator at the Pike County Library. “We wanted to find a way to still have a fun event that was safe and adhered to social distancing guidelines. The Drive-Thru Circus is just that – it’s a contactless show that allows people to watch performers from inside their vehicle. Several performers from The Cincinnati Circus will be showcased in the parking lot of the Lee Avenue Library in Pikeville.”

According to Salisbury, this free drive-thru circus event will take place rain or shine.
