The Hardy Pool reopend for the summer after Pike County’s Kevin Tilley leased the property from Pike County.

Tilley said that he took over operations of the pool because kids in the community didn’t have any other pools to go to.

“Pikeville shut down, Williamson shut down, Phelps and Freeburn can’t operate their pool. So yeah, that’s the only reason I’m doing it, for the community,” said Tilley.

Entrance to the pool is five dollars for adults, four dollars for children 17 years-old and younger but children under the age of six get in free. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

Tilley said that the pool can be rented for birthday parties and other events.

The pool will remain open until September. Operation hours are 11:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday. For more information, you can contact Tilley at, (606) 625-0197.
