PIKEVILLE, Ky. – Most of eastern Kentucky is under a flood watch, beginning Tuesday night and running through Thursday morning. Meteorologists with the National Weather Service in Jackson held a conference call Tuesday afternoon to update officials in the areas under the flood watch about the latest forecast and flooding threat. Among those on that conference call was Pike County Emergency Management Director, Doug Tackett, who says Pike County’s swift water rescue crews are also preparing for the possibility of flooding in the next 36 hours. Tackett added that as we get closer to the weekend, all eyes will be looking at another rain producing system that could cause even more problems.
