HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Bulldogs make quick work of Hawks; eye showdown with Pirates

Lawrence County scored the game’s final 40 points and the Bulldogs beat Pike County Central, 48-8, in a game played at the Dawg House on Thursday night.

The Bulldogs improved to 6-1 while the Hawks dropped 2-5.

Quarterback Talan Pollock ran for 164 yards and three touchdowns on just four carries. Running backs Dylan Ferguson and Kaden Gillispie each added a rushing touchdown. Gillispie also caught a TD pass.

Central running back Matt Anderson ran for 65 yards and one score on 19 rushing attempts.

Both teams will return to action on Friday night as the Hawks host Magoffin County (3-4) and the Bulldogs welcome Belfry (4-3) in a battle for the top spot in the district. Both games will kick at 7:30 p.m.
