In final coronavirus briefing, Beshear ends most COVID restrictions

FRANKFORT, Ky. — Friday marked a milestone, as Gov. Andy Beshear held his final regularly scheduled briefing about the coronavirus.

In addition to giving the latest numbers, the governor marked the occasion by rescinding executive orders related to the pandemic. As a result, nearly all restrictions have now been lifted, including the statewide mask mandate, Healthy at Work guidelines and business capacity restrictions.

A new executive order requires masks to be used only on public transporation, and at nursing homes, hospitals and medical offices.

It is recommended that masks continue to be worn at jails and homeless shelters, and by anyone who is immune compromised or who has COVID-19.
