FRANKFORT, Ky. — The coronavirus continues to spread out of control across Kentucky, with Gov. Andy Beshear once again reporting a new record for daily cases.
And just about no area of the state remains untouched, with nearly all counties in the state now experiencing critical levels of transmission.
The latest numbers show more than 3,600 new cases, bringing the total to more than 148,000.
Thirty more Kentuckians have died, raising the death toll to 1,742.
More than 1,500 people are currently hospitalized with COVID-19, including 388 in intensive care and 199 on ventilators.
The state’s positivity rate is now 9.18 percent.
