FRANKFORT, Ky. — For the first time since the coronavirus pandemic began, Kentucky has now seen cases decline for four weeks in a row.
The state reported 5,700 new cases over the weekend, which is a drop of more than 1,300 from last weekend. That brings the total to nearly 378,000.
The death toll now stands at more than 4,000, after 130 more Kentuckians died over the weekend.
The number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 has now fallen to more than 1,200, including 290 patients in intensive care and 140 on ventilators.
The state’s positivity rate has now fallen to just shy of 8 percent.
