LOUISA, Ky. — A Lawrence County man has now been indicted after being arrested for a number of child exploitation charges back in November.

Jerod Lee Kelly, 36, of Louisa, has been charged with human trafficking, 10 counts of distributing obscene material to minors, and 10 counts of procuring a minor through electronic means. He is accused of using Facebook and Facebook Messenger to solicit young girls to send him explicit images of themselves.

According to the police report, Kelly admitted messaging “dozens (maybe hundreds) of juveniles, soliciting explicit images from them and sharing explicit images of himself.”

He had been released from jail in January, after no indictment was handed down within 60 days of his initial arrest.

Kelly was re-arrested Thursday after he was indicted. He is now being held in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center on a $50,000 cash bond.
