Lengthy Drug Investigation Leads To An Arrest

Johnson County, KY — A four-month long investigation into the illegal distribution of drugs in Johnson County has led to an arrest. The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Drug Enforcement Agency in apprehending 65-year-old Proctor Wayne Pennington Sr. of Flat Gap. Pennington was charged with a federal indictment involving the illegal distribution of more than 1 pound of meth in Johnson County and surrounding areas. Johnson County Sheriff Doug Saylor says Pennington was lodged in the Pike County Detention Center pending initial appearance with a federal magistrate judge.
