Sheriff’s deputies were on the scene of a reported domestic violence complaint, when they say 47-year-old Burland Holland, of Salyersville, came walking by.

The police report said Holland was staggering and using a walking stick, so a deputy asked if he was OK. The officer noticed a strong odor of alcohol coming from Holland, who reportedly then claimed to be a federal agent, with badge number 1491. He allegedly also told officers he had diplomatic immunity and that he was also a congressman.

Holland was arrested on charges of alcohol intoxication, impersonating a peace officer and impersonating a public servant. The impersonating a peace officer charge is a felony, punishable by up to five years in prison.
