GUNLOCK, Ky. — A Magoffin County man has been arrested, after being indicted on abuse charges.

John Wayne Loper, 55, of Gunlock, was indicted last week in Knott County on charges of first-degree sexual abuse and first-degree sodomy. No details about the allegations were available, except that the alleged victim was younger than 12.

Loper was arrested Saturday afternoon and booked in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville.
