Back on Jan. 5, state troopers attempted to serve an arrest warrant on Jimmy Frazier, 43, of Phelps, at a home on Barrenshee Creek where he had been staying, but were told he had just left.

As they were driving away from the home, they spotted him driving a car and attempted to pull him over, but the car sped away instead. That resulted in a chase that was eventually called off due to the danger it posed to the public.

A state trooper located Frazier again in a camper at Freeburn early Sunday morning and went to arrest him. But the officer said Frazier ran out of the camper and tried to get away, until he fell down and was caught. As he was being placed under arrest, police found several types of drugs and a handgun in his pocket.

He was arrested and charged with trafficking in meth and heroin, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, fleeing police and several other charges related to his arrest on Sunday.

He also faces charges of fleeing police, wanton endangerment of a police officer and numerous traffic violations for the chase back in January.
