Magoffin man indicted on federal drug charges out of Johnson County

PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A Magoffin County man has been indicted on federal drug and gun charges out of Johnson County.

A grand jury indicted Tyler Isaac, 29, of Salyersville, last week on charges of possession of meth with the intent to distribute and felon in possession of a firearm. The charges stem from an incident in Johnson County back in January.

If convicted, Isaac faces up to 20 years in prison for the drug charge and 15 years for the gun charge.

Isaac is currently being held in the state prison at La Grange, where he is serving time for a burglary charge out of Magoffin County and an assortment of charges out of Morgan County. Prosecutors have asked that a judge order him to be transferred to Pike County to answer the indictment.
