ELKHORN CITY, Ky. — A Pike County man has been indicted on charges related to a shooting in Elkhorn City earlier this year.
Keegan Schoeff, 21, of Elkhorn City, was arrested back in April, after police said he went into a home and fired his gun multiple times, injuring one person.
At the time, he was charged with first-degree assault, which is punishable by 10-to-20 years in prison. But a Pike County grand jury amended that to a lesser charge of second-degree assault, which is punishable by 5-to-10 years in prison. However, the grand jury also added two new charges of first-degree wanton endangerment, which is punishable by 1-to-5 years in prison.
Schoeff has been held in the Pike County Detention Center since his arrest in April. He is scheduled to appear in court for arraignment June 11.
