SALYERSVILLE, Ky. — A Magoffin County man has been arrested for failing to comply with his sex offender registration.

Gerald Williams, 38, was arrested late Tuesday night. He had moved into the area from Michigan, where he was convicted of criminal sexual conduct with a 10-year-old. He is required to remain on the sex offender registry for the rest of his life.

His last known address was a home on Old Lick Creek Road, but the Kentucky Sex Offender Registry reported that his occupancy of that address was no longer able to be verified.

Williams now faces a charge of failure to comply with sex offender registration, which is a felony punishable by up to five years in prison for a first offense.

He is currently being held in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center, in Paintsville.
