Man accused of threatening bus driver appears in court

gooslin squareThis morning, the Pike County man accused of threatening a school bus driver appeared in court in Pikeville for a pre-trial conference with prosecutors.  According to bus driver, Linda Fields, Benny Gooslin allegedly blocked the door of the bus she was driving in Phelps on the morning of September 13th.  Fields also claims Gooslin was screaming and cursing and trying to break the driver’s side window with his fist.  But, Gooslin and his attorney Sid Trivette dispute those claims, saying the cell phone video shot by Gooslin himself during the incident proves his innocence.  Gooslin rejected an offer presented by the Pike County Attorney’s Office, and a trial date has been set for May 28th in Pikeville.
